ADK is a collaboration of Musicians, Producers, Sound Engineers and Design Engineers. It is the sum-total of it's community of like-minded end-users seeking to improve their craft. The Sole Mission is to build an Optimal Signal-Chain without the Ridiculous Price Tag. We're unabashedly old-school bare-wire-theory take-the-picture-right "sound-painters". Musicians Run the Place, which is what definitely gives ADK its unique character. Listen to some recent CD's Tracked on ADK and let us know what You think!!
"If you do it for the love of good tone, everything else follows."

ADK Microphones is the 1997 creation of Larry Villella, recording engineer, piano expert, and vintage mic collector. His idea was to replicate the sonic qualities of vintage European mics by means of spectrum analysis and computer modeling of the response curves of his favorite mics and using modern manufacturing technology and parts. Rather than making a “me, too” line of cheap condenser microphones, Larry and some friends set out to make them better.
Each microphone in the ADK line was designed to have a particular sound - a certain flavor or color to add to your palette, if you will. The model A is an excellent female vocal mic and records acoustic string instruments beautifully. The next model in the line is the model S, actually a high SPL model A with pad and roll-off switches. You now add the ability to mic drums and guitar amps for not much more money. As you move up the line, you add versatility and different flavors.
Unlike other brands, ADK Microphones are not sold via superstores and mail order houses. Only small independently owned retailers and contractors are authorized to sell ADK products. This helps ensure that our ultimate customers, the musicians and engineers, are given the best possible service and attention. If you are an artist or engineer interested in purchasing or a getting a demo of ADK microphones, contact us and we will help you find the ADK Microphone that fits your needs.
Today we have marketing companies, chain stores, and even food brokers (yes, food brokers) going to Asia trying to build the cheapest possible microphones. At ADK, they ask, “How can we make them better?” From the clarity of a FET mic to the transparency of a transformerless design to the warmth of a tube condenser, there is an ADK microphone in the line that will make your mix sound better than ever before.
