JBL SRX728S - Dual 18" subwoofer

The SRX728S is buyilt to deliver smooth, clean, accurate low-end. A pair of 18" Differential Drive® woofers provide extension down to 27 Hz while handling an amazing 1600 watts of continuous power. Large, open ducts minimize port turbulance and the heavily braced enclosure assures tight, solid bass. An external switch allows the SRX728S to be used with cabling systems designed to power subs from contacts ±1 or ±2.

JBL's SRX728S is one of the most impressive boxes i've heard. We use 20 of them in our touring dance club. For the buck, they are the best out there! I'm a HUGE supporter of Electro Voice... for my money, you can't get a clearer sound in your highs with anyone else then EV. We've compared the JBL 728S to Electro Voice's MTL-1X dual subwoffers... and the JBL just simply can't be beat. EV makes a GREAT box, but i'd say they are ment more for outdoor concerts. For indoor, dance applications, the JBL SRX728S is the only way to go. We used to have 40 (no, that's not a typo) 40 EV Eliminator i subs. We powered them with Crown's Crown amps. These amps only put out 800 watts in 4ohm stereo operation... the JBL SRX728 needs about 3400 watts... We did a dance with the JBL's and used the K2 amps...starting at low volume to make sure we wern't going to blow speakers from underpowering (and yes, the stories you've heard about under powering are true... you will blow a speaker much faster by UNDER powering then by OVER powering)...even with only 800 watts a box (which is 1/4th they should have... and they STILL sound AMAZING!
