Tama's Hand Hammered snare drums draw their response, power and exclusive harmonics of upper and lower frequencies from 3mm thick hand-made hand hammered shells. Hand hammering—which causes the material to become harder—combined with a thicker shell, produces a drum quite different from standard 1mm thick shell drums. The copper shell PC455HN snare drum has a warm and slightly controlled sound, yet is still extremely loud. The aluminum PA455HN snare drum offers a clear, open bright sound with crisp overtones. In the same fashion that hand hammering creates distinctive cymbals, hand hammering by Tama's skilled craftsmen brings out the visual beauty and rich sound of these unique drums.
